got safely to our first destination, though it took us a little longer than expected. we decided to take the silly scenic cycle route from penzance to land's end, but this proved to be a bit too scenic and hilly, so we didn't get there until about 7. we then began the ride in earnest, taking the main road back to penzance (half an hour shorter), where we had fish and chips and a can of vimto (which i thought had gone out of circulation, but it appears they still have it in cornwall). carried on to st. erth, but didn't get there until it was starting to get dark.
