Day 4 Wrington to Stroud

59.5 miles in 360 mins

Left Wrington after a hearty cooked breakfast and a long discussion with a young child about the new series of Dr Who. Things took a turn for the worse, however when we got onto the road. It rained all the way to Bristol, which in itself was fine (we couldn't comlain, as it hadn't rained before then), but when we got to Bristol, I made the mistake of following the signs, which directed us in completely the wrong direction. Eventually (about 10 miles round the city), when the signs wanted us to go on the motorway, we realised we has to turn back. In the end, we cut back across the suburbs, thanks to some helpful directions from the Lady At The Co-op, but in total this amounted to 15 miles and 2 hours of faffing. It turned what should have been a short day into a frustratingly long one. Still, once out of Bristol, the road was flat and we made good time to Howard and Silvia's, where things were improved by a huge meal of gammon, strawberries, chocolate and cheese (in no particular order). Tomorrow should be quite flat, but also very long.
